I purchased one of the popular brands and it was great. I figured I’d take a chance and ordered 6 of the Amazon Basic model for my class and they’re excellent. Great quality, look and feel just like the name brand. If you don’t need to fancy designs on the grip tape, these are a money saver.Having rolled my ankle before my doctor said I should have something like this to train my ankle on how far it should roll. Overall, this is a good product, but could have been better if the edge smoother. There was a few splinters in the product that I received. I will be sanding it down to make it smooth. It is made of plywood and the top surface is lined with a grip material like sandpaper to keep you from slipping off.I recently had an ACL reconstruction (hamstring tendon graft). After about 9 months of rehabbing when I reached full resistance, I realized that loss of the hamstring tendon was making me overcompensate with my calf/upper Achilles on the affected leg. As a result, my calf area was sore and painful all day and night. I looked at a good range of stability equipment out there and "felt" (more than anything else) that this was the design I wanted. Turns out my feeling was right on the money. This board is perfect for rebuilding stabilizing muscles in the lower leg (ankle, Achilles, calf), something you can't build simply from calf and toe raises. It made an immediate impact to my upper Achilles soreness. However, curing that pain completely required far more than just the board. The board is now an integral part of my daily routine. I also just balance on it during the day during phone calls and breaks. I liked it so much that I ordered another one for my office. The board is very sturdy and well-made. After daily use, at home and at work, I haven't seen any issues with it. It works best on a carpet or area rug. I wouldn't recommend using it on a hardwood or tiled floor since the bottom is made of hard plastic. The top surface has a sandpaper-y finish, which gives excellent traction to the feet. I find is suitable with both sneakers as well as with bare feet. Wearing sneakers already provides support to the feet, so it makes the balancing routines slightly easier. For full benefit, I would recommend balancing with bare feet.If I had to knit pick, I would said that I would have preferred a slightly larger diameter than the 15.5" currently offered, as this board seems on the smaller side to place both my feet. Since I only wear a size 8.5 - 9, the board is fine when I am in bare feet but tends to be a little small with sneakers on. Men with larger shoe sizes will likely find it more annoying.I love that this tool can be used anywhere and doesn’t take up much space! I just get in it whenever without it being a big deal. Helping me be more balanced!Very sturdy, excellent price, improves posture, works core and I am overall happier! Has a "no slip" top so your shoes don't move as your balancing. Took some getting used to to balance on it but it's not as scary that I'll fall now. Highly recommended!!This board works great if you want to do one foot balance things, less well for 2 feet. The board itself isn’t wide enough for you to have your feet under your shoulders, which makes your center of balance very hard. Still great for 1 foot, but things like 2 leg squats or regular balance will be hard.It does everything I need it to. Made of good quality Finnish/European like birch plywood. The plastic pivot “ball” seems heavy duty. I’m 236 lbs, and it handles my exercises well. This wobble board is really helping me improve my balance. It is easy to use, sturdy and it works. The grip on the top is excellent and it feels sturdy enough to hold a lot of weight but it comes with a small indent in the middle of the ball under the board which you can easily rest on as you try to balance eliminating the whole challenge. If you are completely new to fitness, completely out of shape or maybe a sr citizen this could work for people who need extra help strengthening their calves and ankles but even then it has no difficulty settings like other boards so once you get comfortable there's not much more you can do to challenge yourself and you'll need a new board anyway. I returned mine and bought one with adjustable settings.really good, compares well with more expensive onesA piece of round plywood with a spherical plastic foot. Built solidl, works well too. The only gripe - it's a stupid simple thing and can be made locally instead of importing it from the land of the commies. So, I pinched a nerve... pretty much the hottest personality trait of mine for the next 2-3 months as I continue to recover. Along with that came physiotherapy, which my new physiotherapist recently recommended I try one of these balance boards to retrain the muscles in my left foot how to work properly again (and let's face it, she'd be physiotherapissed if I hadn't). I've been using it for the past week and have noticed a dramatic improvement in the strength of my foot, as well as my balance overall. It supports a heavy-built 6'1 man perfectly, so why wouldn't it support you? If it's helping me walk normally again, I'm sure you'll be able to find another use for it as well.
