Wanted a basketball sized workout ball.I returned one previous buying this from amazon essentials, because it will slipped out of my hands while working out, this one has a good grip and it looks durable !Not a slam ball. Not a wall ball. A true medicine ball. Hard to find Because most of these are either wall balls or slam balls. I love this medicine ball. It is perfect.Great product for price* A little slippery but using a towel before should be enough with the built in ridges. This is great ball to use for workouts! It’s your standard basic medicine ball comparable to what you would see In a gym. This review, I will point out Key thing from other comments compared to my experience.Toughness and bounce Is great TO AN EXTENT. What I mean is yes it has bounce, yes it is durable, and yes you can bounce it, but I would say definitely at your risk of it splitting. Despite the fact that in part of the description it does say you can bounce it on concrete or a wall, I would not. This is a medicine ball not meant for slamming. They have other versions of medicine balls for that purpose mainly known as slam balls. So you could say description is a little false leading, but common sense also comes into play. Also do your research before purchasing anything. The grip texture feels really nice in your hands. I’m not sure what others are experiencing with the texture being slippery. this is what you would basically find in a gym. the textureIs quite nice. I throw it up in the air and catch it without worried about slipping through my hands and being pummeled in the face. so I’m not sure why other people are having issues with the slippery feeling because this ball definitely has a textured grip.Smell factor? Saw a lot comments say it has a disgusting odor or factory rubber smell. I get it, but again this is what you would find out a gym. that rubber smell is normal. It’ll go away over time, but I mean it’s a heavy rubber ball. that type of rubber always smells. Basketballs and footballs are the same way.Overall great product to use. I plan on buying the rest of the medicine balls. Really good for core and overall strength training. I think there’s too many pros to outweigh the one con. Can't speak to durability as I just received it. It seems well made. Weight distribution is fine.Surface texture/grain is a bit smooth and doesn't provide a real good grip.I bought this exact ball previously and it fractured in under 30 days. This one, however has not fractured and I’ve been using it for months, and in the same manner as the previous ball that fractured. That suggests a manufacturing related deficit in the previous ball, and that my current ball has no manufacturing related deficit. My advice to anyone who buys this ball is watch it closely over the first 30 days. If it shows any signs of fracture return it immediately and get a replacement. Do the same with the replacement ball. This adds to my series of medicine balls enabling to very type and intensity of workout throughout an entire week. Quality is very good, texture insures firm grip, different colors make it easy to select desired weight.Received medicine ball on time. Opened box and ball came in a plastic bag. Took the ball out of the bag and it was covered in smelly oil. The whole ball was slippery. I immediatly made a hot sink with soapy water and washed the ball thoroughly. Once dry, the smell was still present - not as bad. I like the look and the ball works great and seems super tough. I have used it for a few workouts now, and I find my hands have a residue on them after - which has the same unpleasant smell, and anywhere the ball has been on our laminate flooring is a super slippery spot. Both my dog and child have seriously wiped out. So, not overly pleased with this oily residue that is still coming out of it.This residue can't be good for anyone's health, and I am concerned to continue using it.I got this medicine ball to help with home workouts during quarantine. I read reviews of it having a strong smell upon arrival- and it did. I tried airing it out but I can still kind of smell it when I hold it close to my face. Also, I’m not sure if my hands are just sweaty when I work out but sometimes the ball feels kind of glossy? So I have a hard time holding it in my grip. It’d be nice if some straps could be attached to the ball to be able to hold it better. Otherwise it works well as is.Very strong smell makes it unusable upon delivery. Hopefully it will degas coz right now its stinking up the room its in.this is 100% the best medicine ball I have found for a cheap price.. These are usually quite pricey. Has a nice grip on it if you want to bounce it (which it does bounce).. quality is great and has shown hardly any signs of wear and tear.. i use it indoors and outdoors on concrete and it doesn't scrape away the material. Would buy more for sure.
