I love the look of the clock, but it does not keep accurate time. I've set it to the correct time multiple times, but the next day it will be about an hour off. Somehow it does not keep the time accurately.I bought this clock TWICE (my mistake I know). I really liked the design and how simple it was. The first one started really slowing down after a couple weeks. I switched the battery and it worked okay for a couple days then started losing time again. I bought another one, thinking maybe I had gotten a defective one, and the exact same thing happened. It's a shame, it's a really nicely designed clock visually, but I'd recommend you stay away from it.I really wanted to like this clock... and actually did, until it stopped keeping accurate time - kind of the basic purpose, no? After about 6 months, it now drops back 10+ minutes over a period... I'm not sure how long it takes to get out of sync, I just suddenly notice that it's 10 minutes behind what shows on my computer. This has now happened 3 or more times and I've returned it.It IS totally silent! I'll grant that on the plus side. Good size, easy to read, simple design. Now, it if only kept time! Oh well!Looking for a quiet quartz driven clock without the ticking noise or the ticking motion - this has a clean sweeping second hand, it's fairly large (it's almost too big for a 14'x14' bedroom. It's got a clean modern look, with easily discernible numerals. So far it's been keeping time perfectly. Most people aren't getting a clock to simply tell time - aesthetics matter and style wise, I got the brass look and it has a solid feel to it, the glass cover is nice - if I was being picky, I would say the bezel is slightly thicker than necessary, I would have preferred a white inner ring instead of it being black (perhaps it's done to cut down on glare?) and design-wise, I would have preferred a minute hand that didn't pass over the numerals, thereby blocking them, it just pointed to them like the minute hand. Otherwise, it's a perfectly functional and easily legible clock.I had assumed the face would be perspex. It's glass, which looks better but is much more fragile. I took it out of the box yesterday night; I was going to hang it today but this morning I found the cats had pushed it from the counter onto the floor (about 4ft) and there was glass everywhere.I'm very pleased with Amzon Basics 12" Traditional Wall Clock. It is easy to see the time. The arms sweep soundlessly around the dial. And the clock keeps perfect time. I appreciate it because this clock was not only within my budget but it keeps perfect time as well. Just before this purchase I bought a clock from a different manufacturer and at a different store. It didn't work. I took the hit, crossed my fingers and bought this clock from Amazon and am really glad I did. Thank you again Amazon for making a reliable product at a price I can afford.This clock worked fine for the first few months and then worked sporadically after that until it stopped completely a few months ago at less than 2 years old. Tried changing the battery several times to no avail. It's a nice looking clock with an easy to read face, but what good is that when it doesn't work. It's junk.I bought this to replace a wall clock that looked nice but drove me crazy with its ticking sound. This one looks nicer and is completely quiet, and is a good value as I expect out of the AmazonBasics brand.I bought this to replace my old kitchen wall clock, not because it had broken, but because it didn't have a second hand. A second hand has two useful functions. First, it's handy for short timings in the kitchen, and second, it's a good way of being sure the battery is still working! It can be embarrassingly easy to glance at the clock and not realise it has stopped.This clock has a large, clear, beautifully uncluttered display in classic design. There is nothing on the face but the Arabic numerals, not even a brand name, and I like that most of all. Very easy to read at a glance.I think it's perfect.A simple wall clock that is silent and accurate. Unfortunately mine had a fault and would stop randomly every couple of days. Returned and refunded- a nice looking clock if you get one that works ok.The hands are longer so it's easy to tell the time from a distance or if you wear glasses but don't have them on.Great price, looks classy, silent action, easy to set. Buy it.This clock keeps stopping and never displays the correct time.
